The Vintage Home Show is BACK!
That’s right, folks of Bristol beware! We will be cooking up a vintage storm in your area this weekend!
Where? The Paintworks, Baths Road, Bristol, BS4 3EH
Sunday really will be Funday as I dazzle The Paintworks with a host of wonderful Vintage Homeware, all supplied from a wide-range of stallholders and vintage experts – most of whom I’ve known for a very long time (it’s almost an excuse to have a reunion but shhh).
Love Mid-century modern? Perhaps you’re looking at re-vamping your home in some way? Maybe you’re an interior designer?
That’s great! There will be something to tempt all of you!
In fact, head on over to my event on Sunday 22nd May and I challenge you not to walk away with an incredible vintage gem! From Mid-century furniture, retro lighting and ceramics to vintage textiles and artwork galore; my mission is to bring together the UK’s best Vintage and Mid-century Specialists to showcase quality vintage pieces.
If truth be told, The Vintage Home Show has got to be one of my favourite events to organise. Mostly down to my own personal love of anything G-Plan and Ercol! But also because it has such an incredible buzz around it. It’s always so lively! It’s also been known for a few celebs to pop in too so keep your eyes peeled and your iPhones ready!!
I’m also in the middle of having a new house built…
That could be why I’m extra excited for this one! A great excuse to join you all in a vintage buying jolly! Those who have met me, know how much I love going hunting so I hope to see plenty of other go-getters there, just like me!
I can’t wait! For all the details please visit my website here.
See you there!
The Festival of Vintage is upon us…
YEEESSSS! We are finally on the countdown to The Festival of Vintage 2016!
That’s right, only a week to go!
Where? York Racecourse, York
When? Saturday & Sunday 23rd & 24th April. Doors open from 10am-5pm both days.
What? Celebrating all-things vintage from the 1930s to 1960s; singing, dancing, shopping, talks, vehicle displays, fashion shows, workshops – you name it, we’ve got it!
That means any last minute ticket purchases to avoid queuing at the door can be bought HERE.
Don’t worry about missing out though, entry can still be granted on the door for those of you who are more free spirited!
I, personally, am an avid advance-ticket purchaser. Busy schedule like mine makes it a necessary entity! What a crazy start to 2016 it has been though – new house on the way, lots of fabulous vintage hunting, events left, right and centre… it has been fantastic so far, if a little tiring.
The Festival of Vintage is not only my pride & joy, it’s also my annual excuse to let my hair down and celebrate the wonderful world of vintage with fellow, like-minded people. I put my heart and soul into it every year and love nothing more than watching it all unfold. It’s almost like falling in love for the first time all over again!
The singing, the dancing, the shopping, the atmosphere… it really is like stepping back in time and into a dream world – my dream world. I honestly cannot wait for next weekend! I hope to see lots of familiar faces there and plenty of new ones too!
Those of you who still don’t know what I’m talking about please click here. My website will walk you through the magic that is The Festival of Vintage. So go on, click that link and explore my vintage world, very soon you’ll be a part of it!
See you there!
I’ve been here, there and everywhere once again folks!
What can I say?
I’m an unstoppable vintage-force to be reckoned with!
So, what have I been plotting?
Firstly, my wonderful Discover Vintage Fair is back on its Manchester stomping ground on Sunday 3rd April!
I always love doing this event especially at the fabulous Victoria Baths! It’s a golden oldie favourite of mine! If you love Vintage Fashion, Homeware and Curios from the 1920s to 1970s then make this your next stop for a good old vintage fix!
You know that amazing vintage event we all love attending once a year, at York Racecourse? The one that usually arrives at the end of April, making York explode with excitement and incredible vintage antics?
YEP, of course I’m referring to The Festival of Vintage! I’ve been a busy bee making sure this year is even BIGGER and BETTER than the previous. I certainly have some treats up my sleeve so be sure to mark these dates down in your diaries – the 23rd & 24th April.
For those of you stumbling upon it for the first time and desperate to find out more (how could you not be?) make sure you click here and prepare to fall deep into a vintage-clad rabbit hole!
I promise you will come out of it alive but you’ll no-doubt emerge fully transformed into a glorious vintage butterfly!
Tickets can be bought in advance here or on the door upon arrival.
Can’t wait to see you all very soon!
I had a crazy idea in 2011 to go big! Not content with being the average sized vintage fair organiser I had aspirations of something with much more impact- The Festival of Vintage! There was nothing like it ‘Up North’ so I created it.
So…… the reason my blog has been a bit of a non-blog for the past few weeks is that I have had my head down creating this monster of a vintage festival with Classic Cars, Fashion Parades, Displays, Workshops, Dancing, Beauty Parlour and more !
Taking place next weekend, 25th & 26th April at York Racecourse it draws in both traders and visitors from the length and breath of the UK, I kid you not!
One of my favourite things about this event is the amazing effort the visitors make to look totally amazing. I get to compare the Best Dressed contest and find out more about these stunning ensembles. I spend a lot of my time (when not running around) people watching and being envious of those who can dance. One day I will have time to learn just a few steps.
I have maxed out on the entertainment budget this year and have booked some cracking bands and singers including The Jive Aces, The Bevin Boys, Doug Perkins & The Spectaculars and Rockin Em plus many others on my two stages!
A couple of great new features have been added too- Beamish Museum are bringing a 1950’s Living Room and Marks & Spencer Company Archive are bringing a display of some of their Fashions from the 1930’s-1960’s. Plus fellow ‘Style Me Vintage’ Author Liz Tregenza is coming along to promote her new book 1940s…..more on that in another blog.
This event is really something special and I am not just saying that! My faithful traders go all out to bring a stunning collection of 1940’s & 50’s Fashion, Home wares & curios and everybody has a fab time. I might even accidently buy another Lucite handbag as a treat for all my hard work as there are normal quite a few to choose from.
When the gates open and the visitors come streaming in, looking amazing, it makes all the long hours and endless admin all worth while!
Tickets are £10 per day and can be purchased in advance or on the gate here
